This is a continuation of the Beginning Woodturning class however, students familiar with the use of the basic woodturning tools are welcome. We will work on vessels, bowls or platters, natural edge bowl and some hollowing. Some off-center turning and multi-axis turning will be introduced. Students are expected to bring their own tools: roughing gouge, spindle, detail gouge, bowl gouge and a heavy duty scraper and safety gears. It is also advisable to bring your own chuck so the project can be taken home if you choose to. Material for practice is provided however, students will need to bring their own turning blanks, if they want to turn and finish a quality piece. This class will have different projects going at the same time. So, come prepared with some idea of what interests and challenges you. Your instructor is the owner of Woodworker’s Emporium. A materials fee of $60 is payable to instructor on the first day of class.
