Description
Direct thread 1-1/4"x8tpi. This chuck will thread directly on to most full size lathes sold in the USA without an adapter.
The VM120 T- Bar Allen Key operated chuck provides one - hand tightening along with tremendous gripping power provided by the 5 to 1 ratio of the scroll. Keyed chucks cannot be beaten when is comes to holding power. The totally enclosed back assures consistent, smooth action by preventing dust and debris from getting into scroll of the chuck.
The backing lid is also indexed for those woodturners who do not have indexing facility on their lathes. The VM120 will hold most work up to 500mm( 20in) in diameter with standard jaws.

Vicmarc 120 5" T-bar chuck
I've had 3 other chucks, smaller ones, but this bad boy is as strong as an ox and never loses its grip. It's a fantastic chuck. I'm VERY impressed and pleased.

Best chuck I own
This Vicmarc chuck is now the best chuck I own. I have a Nova G3, and 2 supernova 2s. They are great chucks but the Vicmarc is in a class by itself. I like that the Vicmarc is direct thread for my lathe so no adapter needed. It's rock solid and can turn a large range of bowl sizes with the standard jaws. The Vicmarc is now my go to chuck. It's on the lathe 90% of the time. The other chucks are now used for specific tasks so I don't have to swap out jaws. If you're looking at this chuck and are on the fence about getting one, just buy it. It's well worth the investment.
