Great tool. Used one in class with Glenn Lucas. Bought one for myself as soon as I got home.

I now have all three sizes of these calipers. They are perfect for turning bowls and platters. They are thin enough to slip between the jaws of a chuck and check the thickness of a bowl bottom. The design is perfect for checking the bottom thickness as well as the sides of bowls and platters. That is the main reason I bought them, since I mainly use a recess in the bottom of the bowls and platters I turn. The shape and thickness of these calipers are perfect for bowls. I would recommend these to anyone

Well made product, works just fine in a medium deep bowl. Wish it had a knob in the center instead of a bolt, so the tension could be varied.

I had a class with Irish Turner Glenn Lucas. He let us use his caliper. Great for checking bowl size.
